Claire & Iben's vases make us happy. We smile when we set our eyes upon the inspired blocks of color and texture that characterize each piece, making each a unique and beautiful piece. They are lovely in groups with or without flowers, greens, or other adornment.

Claire Maria Lehmann and Iben Harboe work together under the name clib klap. When starting the design process, we use a lot of time on getting to the essentials of the product. In our production, the materials, the handcraft, and the variations given are essential to us. We believe in a ceramic tradition signaling unique craftsmanship, giving the customers a true feeling of material and underlining the word “handmade.”

Our vases, made out of fine china, are dipped in two different glazes. We experiment extensively with glazes on all our projects, sometimes developing up to 100 different colors for one project. We want to make further use of these glazes and have therefore made a narrow vase that requires very little glaze. With this method, we produce unique vases all numbered on the bottom, so the custumers acquire a vase with a color combination unlike any others.

We are both educated at Denmark’s Design School, Claire having graduated in 1996, and Iben in 1999.
