Woven in Smaland, this fanatic, long green/turquoise rug must have been quite difficult to weave. Not because of the technique, which is traditional "tuskaft", but because of the very large amount of green/turquoise cloth which had to be collected in order to produce a rug with only this coloring. Gathering cloth in certain, specific colors can be difficult, which means that it very seldom is possible to order a handwoven rag rug in one or more exact colors. The weavers often create the rugs "as they go" or "as they weave", choosing colors from the big baskets with colorful "trasbuller" (cloth balls rolled from strips of cloth) that stand beside the loom.
