THE COLLECTION
94 1/2" x 19 1/2"
Estimated Age: 1890-1900
A rare and historic Swedish rug is proudly in our collection. The woven pattern is of the trends of this time period. Classic Scandinavian blues and pinks in darks and lights are beautiful. This rug shows a well used patina and is perfect in any interior design from traditional to country to modern and of course eclectic. Its narrow width is also typical for this time period. Put it in a hallway, in the kitchen in front of cabinetry or behind a sofa as some examples. It's wonderful.
Dimensions: 90” x 21”
Most likely, this is a very old rug, possibly from the 1920s-1930s. It’s width is narrow as was typical during that period and its fringe has an aged patina. The rug itself is in very good condition. The colors in this rug are beautiful and unusual for Swedish rugs. The wide bands at each end border the multicolored larger area of the rug. The golds, grays, blues, peach and green are softly muted with a blended look that flows throughout the rug. This rug is reversible and may be gently washed in cold water.
Dimensions: 2’2” x 3’5”
A fantastic Swedish rug, handwoven on a wooden loom by a Swedish artisan. This vintage piece is at the highest levels of quality and design for this type of rug.
This is an original design by this talented weaver, one of a kind. The pattern is carefully woven to be perfectly symmetrical and evokes a formal yet charming design. The colors of Swedish reds and traditional Swedish blues set against black accents and soft neutrals create a sophisticated design.
This rug can be used as a small rug anywhere in the home, but it can also be used as a wall hanging, as a textile on a table top, draped across the back of a chair or used in other ways to display important pieces.
It is reversible and may be washed gently in cold water to freshen it up from time to time.

This is a one-of-a-kind rug, designed by a highly skilled Swedish weaver on a wooden loom in the weaver's own home. The pattern is symmetrical yet with subtle and random differing characteristics which adds to a wholly original and casual design. Swedish rugs are known for their sophisticated color palettes featuring unexpected combinations of color and pattern.
The craft of weaving rugs has been an important cultural craft in Sweden for centuries. This rug is woven in the Tuscaft method. Swedish weavers are highly skilled and this tightly woven rug will last for many years to come and only gets better with age. This rug is reversible! It is also washable in cold water and lay flat to dry.
